Sources and licenses
Original stories and illustrations
The current catalogue records 171 books from Book Dash, 29 through Storybooks Canada from African Storybook, and 10 from Pratham Books through StoryWeaver. Reading pages retain edition-specific creator, source and rights records.
Check the license of each book
Of the 210 catalogue entries, 209 record CC BY 3.0 or CC BY 4.0 (including edition-specific notices), and one records a publisher Public Domain Mark declaration. CC BY reuse requires attribution and compliance with the applicable terms. A Public Domain Mark is a rights-status declaration, not a CC BY license or a guarantee about every jurisdiction or other rights. Check the specific edition, creator credits, notices and links before reuse; identify your changes and do not imply endorsement.
Our adaptations
Little Leaf provides web navigation, age and theme suggestions, discussion prompts, printable layouts and synthetic Voice 7 narration. Some spoken sound effects are normalized for narration where noted on the book page. The illustrated source editions retain embedded original text; spoken narration or translations may differ. A language selector does not translate text already embedded in an illustration.
Printing and further reuse
Keep the attribution and license information when downloading, printing or sharing. Source logos, trademarks and website code are not automatically covered by a book’s Creative Commons license. Other rights, including privacy and publicity rights, may still apply.
Corrections and rights questions
If a credit, license, translation or narration is incorrect, email [email protected] with the affected book and page URL. Little Leaf is independent of the source organizations and does not claim ownership of their stories or illustrations.
